The prestigious Military Institute of Technology (MILIT) in Girinagar, Pune which conducts the flagship Defence Services Technical Staff Course among other technology intensive courses for the tri-services announced the change in its leadership with Air Vice Marshal Vivek Singh Blouria assuming the role of Commandant, effective 01 July 2023.

 With an illustrious military career spanning over three decades, Air Vice Marshal Vivek Singh Blouria an Electronics & Communication Engineer from REC Durgapur and a graduate of DSSC (Wellington), DIAT (Pune), CDM (Hyderabad) and the prestigious NDC (New Delhi) brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position. He has held key command and staff appointments in various maintenance and operational establishments covering a plethora of systems ranging from SAGW, Fighter aircraft, Electronic Warfare, Air Armament, UAV payloads, Communication Equipment, Arrester Barriers, Modern Airfield Infrastructure and AFNET contributing significantly to growth and development of Indian Air Force. Before taking over the reins of MILIT, he was Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Kanheri Hills and spearheaded smooth and seamless execution of AFNET 2.0 upgrade. His exceptional leadership skills, combined with his deep understanding of technology and innovation, will undoubtedly drive MILIT towards new horizons of excellence and advancement.

It has been at the forefront of nurturing exceptional talent in the field of defence technology, research, and development. As the new Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Vivek Singh Blouria will focus on further strengthening MILIT’s academic programmes, fostering research and innovation, and enhancing collaboration with the industry and academia. Under his visionary leadership, MILIT aims to continue producing highly skilled technocrats and professionals who will contribute significantly to the defence technology ecosystem of our nation and strengthening the Armed Forces.
 
Air Vice Marshal Vivek Singh Blouria takes over from Air Vice Marshal V Rajasekhar, who served as the Commandant of MILIT for the past one and half years. AVM V Rajasekhar’s tenure witnessed numerous achievements, including the introduction of digitisation in training with revolutionary Learning Management System, Talks by Eminent Personalities on cutting edge defence technologies and National security strategy and Skill Enhancement for Student officers in the institute’s curriculum and the establishment of strategic partnerships with renowned DIAT and MIT WPU universities.
