In commemoration of the 53rd Vijay Diwas, an inspiring endurance event is currently unfolding at Pune’s historic Race Course, organized by the Southern Command of the Indian Army. Twenty-four selected participants have embarked on a 53-hour Ultra Marathon, symbolizing the enduring spirit and celebrating the 53rd anniversary of the triumphant victory of 1971. This extraordinary run, which commenced in the early hours of December 14 at 2: 00 AM is scheduled to conclude on December 16 at 7:00 AM. This unique Ultra Marathon at Race Course, Pune, pays tribute to the resilience and determination exhibited by Indian Soldiers during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The 53 hour tribute run will serve as a prelude to the Southern Star Vijay Run on December 16, which will be flagged off by Lieutenant General AK Singh, AVSM, YSM,SM, VSM ,Army Commander, Southern Command, at the same venue. Anticipated to draw participation from at least 50,000 runners simultaneously across 23 locations in 11 states, the Vijay Run promises to be a remarkable event, fostering a collective remembrance of the historic victory.
