This column, consisting of approximately 100 personnel from the Engineers Task Force, Infantry units and Medical teams, has been deployed with rescue equipment and boats following requisition from the district collector. The team had emergency meetings with all stakeholders including District Collector, Police and Disaster Relief teams. Joint reconnaissance of all locations was carried out this morning and people stranded are being evacuated and relocated. The Army column is deployed with rescue boats and other health care essentials to provide critical assistance and support in the ongoing flood relief efforts.
