Kabaddi fever all around the people sitting in the National Sports Stadium, Balewadi during the ninth day of Indo International Premier Kabaddi League (IIPKL) here on Tuesday evening. Huge number of people were seen during the last day matches in Pune city and further matches will continue in Mysore and Bangalore.
The first match of the day was eagerly awaited by the audience as both the teams Mumbai Che Raje and Diler Delhi are the best teams and have won several matches in this league. Match start with the parallel scores and Diler Delhi has taken its lead in the second quarter and defeated the Mumbai Che Raje.
Diler Delhi defeated Mumbai De Raje in the first match of the evening. Mumbai team is having number of renowned players who have played national level championships and same with the Delhi team as there are number of national level players who have played myriad of national championships.
After the half time, match almost become one sided as Delhi players have shown their mark by scoring number of points against Mumbai and take a lead of 16 points at half time.
Audience was enthralled with the moves of the players who showcased their talent during the three matches that were held on the eighth day of IIPKL at Balewadi Sports stadium.
It was the tough nut match between the team as these matches are going to decide which team will move ahead in the league that is scheduled to be continue in Mysore.
Diler Delhi won the match from Mumbai Che Raje by nine points. Mumbai team was also got defeated by Telugu Bulls team on Monday evening match. Both the team have infused outstanding efforts articulated by the technical team. The match in the stadium firmed its gripped when supporters of the different team cheers to their players.
The second match was played between Telugu Bulls and Chennai Challengers.The man of the match was awarded with cash prize of Rs 25000 by the organisers of IIPKL.
The eight teams participating in the league are Banglore Rhinos, Chennai Challengers, Diler Delhi, Telugu Bulls, Mumbai Che Raje, Pune Pride, Haryana Heros and Pondy Predators.
Jessy Survarna is the owner of Mumbai Che Raje team. Srikanth is Telugu team owner, Joel Sam is the owner of Pondicherry Predators and Muthu Samy is the Cheenai Challengers team.
Veteran Kabaddi Player and Promoter of IIPKL Dr Prasad Babu highlighted that Pune residents have shown their love and affection towards our country traditional game Kabaddi. Large number of people gathered on the last day matches in Pune. I was getting overwhelming response from the people and this is the positive sign that people are still having huge inclination towards this game.
The winning team will get prize money of Rs 1.25 crores, first runner up will get Rs 75 lakh, Rs 50 lakh as third prize and Rs 25 lakh as fourth prize. He also added that IIPKL is very happy to share the maximum money to the franchises and the players and this is for the first time that the players are also the stake holders.
